Career Guidance Cell informs that ONGC Recruitment through GATE 2020 - Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has released a notification for ONGC recruitment through GATE 2020. The application form for the recruitment of Graduate Trainees for E-1 level in Engineering & Geo-Sciences through GATE 2020 will be released tentatively in the March/April. Candidates have a pay a registration fee and upload their photograph and signature along with the application form for ONGC recruitment through GATE 2020. Only candidates who qualified in GATE 2020 will be eligible to apply for the ONGC recruitment through GATE 2020 and will be shortlisted on the basis of their GATE scores. Such shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview before they are offered the appointment. The result of ONGC recruitment through GATE 2020 will be released in online mode. IIT Delhi
conducted GATE 2020 on February 1, 2, 8 and 9. The application form of GATE 2020 was available till
September 28 without late fee in an online mode. The result
of GATE 2020 was declared on March 13 and GATE score card will be released by March 20.

Eligibility Criteria for ONGC Recruitment through GATE
2020
Candidates who are applying for various positions at ONGC
must make sure that they meet the eligibility criteria for ONGC recruitment
2020. The essential qualification which the candidates must have to be able to
apply for ONGC recruitment through GATE 2020 are listed in the table below.
- Candidates
must be Indian Nationals
- Candidates
need to score minimum 60% marks in the undergraduate engineering
programmes, to be eligible to apply for the recruitment.
- The
detailed eligibility for each discipline is given in the table below for
candidates to check their eligibility as per their chosen discipline.
- Candidates
who have passed professional exams such as AMIE (Mechanical)/ AMIE (Electrical)/ AMIE(Civil) are not eligible for the ONGC
recruitment through GATE 2020.
- Candidates
in the final year of B.E or B.Tech are also eligible to apply. If they are
shortlisted, then their candidature will be provisional. They will have to
produce the requisite documents by last week of July 2020 as proof that
they have met the requisite percentage of marks.
- Candidates
who have obtained the undergraduate degree from distance learning/ part
time mode will be eligible to apply provided their degree is recognized by
the relevant statutory bodies for employment to posts and services of the
Central Government.

What to keep ready before registering for ONGC
recruitment 2020
Candidates have to keep the following documents and
information ready with them before they start filling the application form of
ONGC recruitment through GATE 2020.
- GATE
2020 admit card – Candidates should have the admit card of GATE 2020 ready with them as they
have to mention the GATE registration number the way it is printed on the
GATE 2020 admit card.
- Scanned
photograph and signature- Candidates have to upload the scanned
copy of their signature and the photograph. The dimension and format is
given below in the table.

Candidates have to follow the steps that are given below for
registration and filling the application form of ONGC Recruitment through GATE
2020.
Step 1- Registration- Candidates,
who qualify GATE 2020 exam, have to register for ONGC Recruitment by filling
the online application form. To register, they have to enter their GATE
registration number. Candidates have to enter their GATE registration number
the way it is mentioned on the GATE 2020 admit card.
Step 2- Generation of OTP- A One-time password
(OTP) will be sent to the mobile number and email address of the candidate
which has to be used to move to the next stage of filling the application form
of the ONGC recruitment through GATE 2020.
Step 3- Filling of online application form – After
registration, candidates have to fill their academic, personal GATE related and
other details in the application form of ONGC.
Step 4- View the registered data- Candidates can
check all the details which they have filled in the application form by logging
in after entering the GATE 2020 as well as the ONGC registration number.
Step 4- Printout of the registration slip- Once
the candidates have filled the application form, they can submit it and then
view all the information which they have furnished. After that candidates can
take a print out of the registration slip.
Step 5 - Payment of Registration Fee - The
candidates have to deposit the registration fee at any branch of State Bank of
India through the challan in ONGC Power Jyoti A/C No. 30827318409 of SBI, Tel
Bhavan, Dehradun. The candidates should keep a copy of the bank challan so that
the same can be verified by ONGC at a later stage.

Selection Procedure for ONGC Recruitment through GATE
2020
- Candidates
are shortlisted on the basis of their GATE 2020 scores and called for a
personal interview.
- Such
candidates have to carry their original documents while attending the
interview.
- It
is to be noted that candidates working in the public sector unit or
government job will be required to produce a No Objection Certificate
(NOC) from the organization in which they are working.
- After
they qualify for the personal interview, candidates have to meet the
requisite medical parameters which are laid down by ONGC.
- For
the final selection, a merit list will be prepared on the basis of

shortlisting
Candidates who have been shortlisted for the interview for
