 Career Guidance Cell informs that Indian Air Force AFCAT Recruitment 2020 Online Application Window will be closed today.i.e.afcat.cdac.in at 5 PM. Candidates who have yet not completed the AFCAT 2 Online Application are advised to complete application submission to avoid the last-minute rush on the official website. The Indian Air Force is going to fill up 256 Vacancies of Group A Gazetted Officers in Flying and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical Branch). 

For which, a written exam will be conducted on 19 and 20 September 2020 at various exam centres and the admit cards for the same will be uploaded on the official website. To appear in Indian Air Force AFCAT 2 Exam 2020, the candidates will have to first register themselves before 5 PM today.i.e. 14 July 2020. Candidates can directly apply by following the instructions given in this article.  The online Applications for Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT-02/2020) was started from 15 June 2020 and continue till 14 July 2020.

Eligibility Criteria for AFCAT 2 Recruitment 2020
Educational Qualification:

·         Flying Branch: Candidates should have mandatorily passed with a minimum of 50% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2 level and Graduation with minimum three years degree course in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent or BE/B Tech degree (Four years course) from a recognised University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

Ground Duty (Non-Technical Branches)

·         Administration: Passed 10+2 and Graduate Degree (Minimum three years degree course) in any discipline from a recognised university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

·         Education: Passed 10+2 and Post-Graduation with 50% in any discipline.

·         Meteorology: Post Graduate Degree in any Science stream with a minimum of 50% marks.

Ground Duty (Technical Branch):

·         Aeronautical Engineer(Electronics){AE(L)}: Candidates with a minimum of 50% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level and a minimum of four years degree graduation/integrated post-graduation qualification in Engineering/Technology from recognized University.

AFCAT 2020 Notification for AFCAT 2 has been released by Indian Air Force on 9th June 2020. The Online application of AFCAT 2, 2020 exam has started on 15th June 2020. AFCAT 2020 Application Fee

Candidates registering for AFCAT entry will have to pay an amount of Rs. 250/- as examination fee.

AFCAT Salary 2020

  • Cadet in the final year of training will be given a stipend of Rs. 56,100.
  • After successful completion of training, level 10 in the Pay Matrix of seventh central Pay commission will be allotted to the young Air Officers [56100-1,10,700]
  • Military Service Pay- 15,500 will also be included.

Additional Allowances

  • Flying Branch- Rs 11250 per month.
  • Technical Branch Officers: Rs 2500 per month.
  • In Addition to these officers are also entitled to other allowances such as TA, DA, Children Education Allowance, Ration Money Allowance etc.

AFCAT 2020 Syllabus

Syllabus for English Section:

This section of AFCAT Exam consist of at least 20 questions and level is from moderate to difficult. Questions would be asked from comprehension, cloze test, synonym and antonym, idioms and phrases, Error spotting.

Syllabus for General Knowledge:

This section consist of questions from Indian History, Polity, Economics, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Current Affairs. The level of difficulty of this section is from easy to moderate.

Syllabus for Reasoning Section:

Questions would be asked from Series, Venn Diagram, Syllogism, Blood Relation, Non Verbal questions, Verbal reasoning, military aptitude etc.

Syllabus for Quantitative Aptitude Section:

The questions that are asked in the Mathematics sections of AFCAT are of Easy to Moderate level and questions would be asked from Number system, HCF and LCM, Time, Distance and Speed, Time and Work, Ratio and Proportion, Percentage, Average, Simple Interest and Compound Interest, Pipes And Cistern etc.

AFCAT 2020 Eligibility Criteria

AFCAT 2020 eligibility criteria for Ground Duty and Flying Branch.

(A) Age criteria:?

(i) Flying Branch. 20 to 24 years as on 01 January 2021 i.e. born between 02 January 1997 to 01 January 2001 (both dates inclusive). Upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable upto 26 years i.e. born between 02 January 1995 to 01 January 2001 (both dates inclusive).

(ii)Ground Duty (Technical/Non-Technical) Branches. 20 to 26 years as on 01 January 2021 i.e. born between 02 January 1995 to 01 January 2001 (both dates Inclusive).

Note: Candidates below 25 years of age must be unmarried at the time of commencement of course. Widows/Widowers and divorcees (with or without encumbrances) below 25 years of age are also not eligible.

(B) Educational Qualification:

  1. Flying branch: Minimum 60% marks each in physics and mathematics at 10+2 level and a three-year degree in graduation OR a BE/BTECH degree with a minimum of 60% from a recognized university.
  2. AFCAT 2020 Eligibility Criteria for Ground duty(Technical)Branch:

(i)Aeronautical engineering (Electronics)(AE(L)): Minimum 60% marks each in physics and mathematics at 10+2 level and a degree in graduation/post-graduation in the field of engineering and technology from a recognized university.

AFCAT 2020 Selection Process

Indian Air Force will send call letters to all the candidates who clear the AFCAT/EKT 2020 to appear for the second stage of selection i.e AFSB Testing.

AFSB Testing Stage 1

It includes the following two tests:

  1. Officer Intelligence Rating Test.
  2. Picture Perception and Discussion Test (PP&DT)

Stage 1 is called screening test and candidates who do not clear it will be rejected and will not be called for AFSB Testing Stage 2.

AFSB Testing Stage 2

All Stage 1 qualified candidates will have to appear for AFSB Stage 2 and undergo the following tests:

  1. Psychological Tests: These are the written psychological tests and are conducted by professional psychologists.
  2. Group Tests: These tests involve mental and physical activities to examine the candidates’ on various mental and physical parameters.
  3. AFSB Interview: In this round, the interviewing officer takes a personal round of interview for the candidate.
  4. Computerised Pilot Selection System (CPSS) Test: This test is mandatory for only those candidates who have applied for the Flying Branch.

Medical Examination

Recommended candidates will be called for the medical examination. The Indian Airforce has prescribed only two centres for Medical Examination which are Institute of Aviation Medicine, Bengaluru and Air Force Central Medical Establishment (AFCME). After the medical examination, a final merit list would be prepared on the basis of the marks scored by the candidate in written and AFSB Interview. All the shortlisted candidates would be given the joining letter of the respective training academies they have applied.
