013 (2020-2021) Common Admission Test (CAT) for joining IIMs

 Career Guidance Cell informs that CAT 2020 for admission to IIMs in 2021 has been announced.

1. CAT 2020 Exam Date: CAT 2020 will be conducted on 29th November 2020. in two slots.
2. CAT 2020 Exam Mode : Center- Proctored. CAT will be conducted in test centre spread across around 156 test cities.
3. CAT 2020 Structure: CAT will be a three section test; duration of the test will be 180 minutes (60 minutes for each section).
• Section I: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension
• Section II: Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning
• Section III: Quantitative Ability
4. CAT 2020 Important Features
• Some questions in each section may not be of multiple-choice type. Instead, direct answers will have to be typed on the screen (called TITA questions).
• An on- screen basic calculator will be provided

6. CAT 2020 Application Fee
• Rs. 2000/- for General & NC-OBC candidates
• Rs. 1000/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates
7. Programme Selection
• The applicant can select any number of programmes.

8. Category Reservation
• Category Certificate Prescribed format : SC-ST / NC-OBC/ EWS.
• Disability Certificate Prescribed format: PwD Form V/ VI/ VII

Reservation Policy at IIMs

As per the legal requirements, (Expected)

• 15% of the seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC).
• 7.5% for Scheduled Tribe (ST).
• 27% of seats are reserved for “Other Backward Classes” candidates belonging to the “non-creamy” layer (NC-OBC).
• 5% of the seats are reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwD).
• Upto 10% of the seats are reserved for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS)
