Engineering Services Exam 2016 for the recruitment of 602 Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering,

2. Log on through the website www.upsconline.nic.in.
3. Click on “Online Application for Various Examinations of UPSC”.
4. Click on “Part – I/ Part – II Registration”.
5. Read the Important Instructions & fill the form with all the relevant details & submit the application form.
6. After successful registration, a unique registration ID will be allotted, note down the ID & password.
7. Now fill the personal profile, contact details, age relaxation if applicable.
8. Now fill the details of qualification, experience.
9. Now fill the details of Professional Registration, Language, Miscellaneous Module.
10. Now candidate have to choose the Recruitment Test Centre.
11. Now candidates have to upload documents in Document Upload Module
12. After uploading photograph & signature preview the ORA form and check the details carefully.
13. Now click on the submit button
14. Candidates can Pay Online using the Internet banking facility in SBI or other associated banks or can pay through Visa/ Master Debit or Credit card issued by any Bank/ Institution.
15. Here the Transaction ID & Date of Registration details will directly uploaded automatically.
16. Now pay the fee through cash at any branch of State Bank of India through the Pay-in-Slip

Eligibility:

III. Minimum

iv. passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India); or
v. passed Associate Membership Examination Parts II and III/Sections A and B of the Aeronautical Society ofIndia; or
i. Obtained a Degree in Engineering from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as Universities under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956; or
ii. passed Sections A and B of the Institution Examinations of the Institution of Engineers (India); or
iii. obtained a Degree/ Diploma in Engineering from such foreign University/ College/ Institution and under such conditions as may be recognised by the Government for the purpose from time to time, or

Standards: Candidates
must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to
Engineering Services Examination.
UPSC ESE Selection Process Details: The candidates applying for the
Engineering Services Examination should ensure that they fulfill all the
eligibility conditions for admission to the Examination. The selection process
for the Engineering Services Examination are given below….
UPSC ESE Selection Process:
(i). Written Examination (ii). Interview
I. Written Examination: Written Examination will comprise
two sections—Section I consisting only of objective types of questions and
Section II of conventional papers. There will be penalty (Negative
Marking) for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the objective type
questions. Candidates will be qualified for interview or personality test on
the results of the written part of the examination.
The Commission have discretion to
fix minimum qualifying marks in any or all the papers of the examination. The
Objective Type papers as contained in Section-I of the Plan of
the Examination will be evaluated first and evaluation of the Conventional
Type Papers contained in Section-II of the Plan of Examination will be done
only of those candidates who obtain the minimum qualifying marks in
Objective Types Papers, as fixed by the Commission
II. Interview: Part II—Personality test carrying a
maximum of 200 marks of such of the candidates who qualify on the basis of the
written examination.

ESE Exam Pattern:

Both Sections will cover the entire syllabus of the relevant engineering disciplines viz. Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering. Conventional papers must be answered in English. Question papers will be set in English only. Candidates must write the papers in their own hand Marks will not be allotted for mere superficial knowledge Subjects for the Written Examination.

Note: Compensatory time of twenty minutes
per hour shall be permitted for the blind candidates and the candidates with
locomotor disability and cerebral palsy where dominant (writing extremity is
affected to the extent of slowing the performance of function (minimum of 40%
impairment) will also be allowed in the Engineering Services Examination.
II. Personality Test or
Interview: In
the Personality Test special attention will be paid to assessing the
candidate’s capacity for leadership, initiative and intellectual curiosity,
tact and other social qualities, mental and physical energy, powers of
practical application and integrity of character.
