Management Aptitude Test ( MAT )

The Career Guidance Cell informs that Management Aptitude Test (MAT) dates are announced as detailed below. MAT is a standardised test being administered since 1988 to facilitate Business Schools (B-Schools) to screen candidates for admission to MBA and allied programmes. Govt. of India, Ministry of HRD approved MAT as a national level test in 2003. Any B-School - national or international - can consider MAT Score as an admission input based on the Score Cards issued to the candidates

Final year students of Graduate Courses can also apply

Mode of Test

Candidate can choose any one of the two options to take the test:
Paper Based Test (or) Computer Based Test
Paper Based Test: 01st May 2016 (Sunday)
Computer Based Test: 07th May 2016 (Saturday) onwards**

How to Apply for MAT 2016 (May)

Candidate can choose any one of the following modes to apply
Register online at website link:  http://apps.aima.in/matmay16 with Credit Card/Debit Card (ATM Card). Payment Detailed procedure is given on the website link
Or
Register online at website link http://apps.aima.in/matmay16 by making payment of Rs.1200/- through Net Banking
Or
Obtain crossed Demand Draft (DD) of Rs.1200/- (One thousand two hundred only) in favour of "All India Management Association" payable at Delhi from any Bank. Register online at website link:  http://apps.aima.in/matmay16 along with the demand draft details
Or
Obtain Form with MAT Bulletin/CD against cash payment of Rs.1200/- (One thousand two hundred only) from listed Nodal Centre of AIMA OR from AIMA, New Delhi

Important Dates for MAT 2016 (May)

Last Date for Online Registration: 19th April 2016 (Tuesday)

Late Date for Online Filling-up /Purchase of Form: 16th April 2016 (Saturday)
Last Date for Submission of duly Completed Printout of Registration Form at AIMA, New Delhi: 19th April 2016 (Tuesday)
All provisionally registered candidates both for Paper Based and for Computer Based Test can download their Admit Card from AIMA website http://apps.aima.in/matadmitcard.aspx on or after 23rd April 2016 (Saturday)

MAT May 2016 (Test Centre/ City)

Test Centre City list is provided in the Bulletin. Test Venues for Paper-Based Test and Computer Based Test are different
The Paper-Based Test will take place only on one day i.e., 01st May 2016 at one time slot i.e., 10.00 am - 12.30 pm, whereas the Computer Based Test will take place from 07th May 2016 in different time slots
If the number of candidates registered for Computer Based Test is limited and it can be accommodated in a single day; the test will be completed on 07th May 2016 itself
If the number of candidates registered for Computer Based Test is few in a particular centre, these candidates have to appear for the Paper-Based Test on 01st May 2016

MAT Registration Form Acknowledgement

All Forms received at AIMA are scanned / validated within 5 days and the Form Numbers of such received forms will be available on website link: http://apps.aima.in/mat_reciept.aspx. Further, your form is scrutinized and if found in order; it is provisionally registered
MAT Registration Form received later than the due date is liable to be rejected. Neither any correspondence in this regard will be entertained nor will the fee to be refunded

MAT Admit Card

All provisionally registered candidates for both Paper Based and Computer Based Test can download their Admit Card from AIMA website link (http://apps.aima.in/matadmitcard.aspx) on or after 23rd April 2016 (Saturday)

Specific Admit Card is generated both for the candidates opted for the Paper Based Test and for the Computer Based Test. Admit Card contains Candidate’s Name, Form No, Roll No, Test Date, Test Time and Test Venue Address. Candidate has to strictly follow the date and time allotted to him/her in the case of Computer Based Test

Examination 

The type of questions is of multiple choice. The candidates have to select the correct option. There are 5 sections with 200 questions. The duration of MAT is 2 hours 30 minutes or 150 minutes and there is no sectional time limit i.e. the candidates could move back and forth between the sections. The 5 sections in the MAT 2016 Exam Pattern are Language Comprehension, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning, Data Analysis and Sufficiency, Mathematical Skills, Indian and Global Environment. There are 40 questions in each section, and the scores of the Indian and Global Environment are not added in the final section. The candidates could start the exam with any section.

The total marks of the exam are 200 and the scaled score is given out of 800. The MAT Exam Pattern has remained consistent over the years.

Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is usually conducted four times in a year in January, May, September and December. The minimum qualification is graduation in any discipline from any recognised university or equivalent recognised degree. A final-year student can also appear provisionally. Usually, there is a minimum percentage requirement in graduation which is different for different MI’s/ universities.
