SSC CGL 2016



The Career Guidance Cell informs that Staff Selection Commission recently announced official notification for Combined Graduate Level Exam 2016.The registration process for application was started from 13 February 2016.
The qualification must be as on 1st August, 2016:
CGL 2016 Exam Date: 8th and 22nd May, 2016

CGL 2016 Notification will be published on 13th Feb, 2016

SSC CGL 2016 Last Date : 14th March, 2016
Assistant Audit Officer: The candidate should have a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute. It is desirable that for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer, candidate should be Chartered Accountant or cost & Management Accountant or Company Secretary or Masters in Commerce or Masters in Business Studies or Masters in Business Administration (Finance) or Masters in Business Economics.

Statistical Investigator Grade – II: Candidate must possess Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University. He/she should have scored at least 60% in Mathematics at 12th standard level.  Or Candidate should have Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level.

Compiler: For the post of compiler, the candidate must have Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University with Economics or Statistics or Mathematics as compulsory or Elective subject.
All other Posts: He/she should have Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent.
Essential Qualifications as on 1st August, 2016:
i)             Assistant Audit Officer: a) Essential Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute b) Desirable Qualifications for the Post of Assistant Audit Officer: Chartered Accountant or cost & Management Accountant or Company Secretary or Masters in Commerce or Masters in Business Studies or Masters in Business Administration (Finance) or Masters in Business Economics.
ii)            Statistical Investigator Grade – II Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute with at least 60% in Mathematics at 12th standard level: OR Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level.

iv)           All other Posts: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent. 6(A): For posts of Assistant Section Officer (CSS), Computer Proficiency Test has also been prescribed as an Essential Qualification.

All candidates who are declared qualified by the Commission for appearing at the Data Entry Skill Test/Computer Proficiency Test will be required to produce the relevant Certificates such as Mark sheets for all the three years of Graduation/ Provisional Certificate/ Certificate of Graduation in original as proof of having acquired the minimum educational qualification on or before the 1st August, 2016, failing which the candidature of such candidates will be cancelled by the Commission. The Candidates who are able to prove, by documentary evidence, that the result of the qualifying examination was declared on or before the cut-off date and he/she has been declared passed, will also be considered to meet the Educational Qualification.
SSC Exams schedule for 2016
SSC has announced the tentative schedule for examinations to be held in 2016 (From Jan 2016 to Dec 2016). The CGL Tier I Exam 2016 will be held in May 2016 and Tier II in Aug 2016.
Date of CGL Tier I Exam 2016 - May 2016 ( 8th, 22nd May); Notification Date : 13.02.2016
Date of CGLTier II Exam 2016 - Aug 2016 ( 13th, 14th Aug)
Date of CHSL Exam - Sep / Oct 2016.

Who can apply for SSC CGL Exam 2016?
Applicants, who are willing to apply and appear in the SSC CGL 2016, must full fill the below mentioned eligibility conditions

1) Age-Limit: The minimum required age is 18 years and maximum required age is 28 years. Age Relaxations are there as per the Government of India Rules.

2) Educational Qualification: The minimum required Qualification is Graduation only. However for some specific posts there is need of additional Qualification.
What are the Jobs offered through SSC CGL 2016 ?
There are more than 25 post categories, for which you can apply and appear in the SSC CGL Exam-2016. SSC CGL offers primarily two types of Jobs.
1) Desk  Job
2) Field Job.
1) Desk Job: This is one of the most sought after job for people, who love Home to Office and Office to Home routine. We can say, there is no adventure in the Desk Jobs, but at the same time, it offers, comfort for family and social life.The various posts included as Desk Jobs are Assistants, Clerks, Accountant, Auditor etc.

2) Field Job: As, the name speaks, Filed job refers to all those jobs, where you have to work outside your Office Or visit the office only for short duration and spend most of the time on the field. These are adventurous, Uniform Jobs and involves city to city transfers.

Field jobs provide you an edge over the Desk Jobs, as these involve carrying out Raids, Inspections and surveillance. Filed Job, can be of immense help, in impressing your Girlfriend's Father

The various jobs, that comes under the Field Job Category are : Inspectors in CBI, Sub-Inspectors, Examiners, Preventive Officers etc
Selection Process and Pattern for SSC CGL 2016
Knowing the Selection Process is must, if you are going to appear in SSC Combined Graduate Level Exam-2015. The Selection Process comprises of following:
1) Tier-1 Exam
2) Tier-II Exam
3) Interview/ Computer proficiency Skill Test.
Tier-1 Exam : This is the first stage of the exam and all those who have applied can appear for this Exam. The Structure of Tier-1 Exam is given as under

Note: there will be penalty of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer. So be careful, while marking answers and say no to guesswork as you may lose some very important marks.
Tier-II Exam: This is the 2nd Stage of the Exam. Only those, who pass the Tier-1 Exam and score marks within the range of cut off marks, will be called for the Tier-II Stage.

3) Interview: The Final stage is Interview/ computer Proficiency test.
The Government had decided to scrap the Interview for Group D, B and C posts and as a result of this; there will be No Interview for CGL 2016.
How to Apply for SSC CGL 2016 Exam?
If you really are impressed with the charm of Government Job, then SSC CGL is for you.
Online Application: To apply for SSC CGL 2016, only online mode is applicable. SSC had discontinued receiving the Paper application forms, a major setback for students with no background of Computers. However, those candidates can go to the nearest cyber cafes, and get their form filled
Application Fee: SSC, in the one such organization that has impressed me, with its application fee. SSC will charge only Rs 100 as application fees. Moreover, Female Candidates and candidates belonging to other categories, need not pay the application fees.
Call Letters for SSC CGL Exam 2016
Your admission to Examination Hall will be made possible only if you have admission card OR Call Letter with you. The Call Letter contains a Roll No. that gives you a Unique Identity. It is this Roll No. that let your check your Result

The Call Letters, will be sent to your address, at least 2 weeks before the Exam Date, In case, the candidate, didn't receive his/her Roll No, at least One week before the Exam Date, then the candidate, must contact the Regional SSC Sub Office

Result of SSC CGL 2016 Exam

SSC CGL Tier-1 Exam is attended by over 15 lakhs people and this is always a tiring job. But with SSC goes online, results will be declared much earlier than expected.

On an average, SSC will take, 4-5 months time, for declaration of result. But now with On-line exam, SSC will announce the results in 2-3 months time and those who pass the CGL Tier-I Exam, will appear for Tier-II Exam.

The Declaration of Results and Final Selection and then appointment takes approximately a year's Time.

(A): General Intelligence & Reasoning: It would include questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. This component may include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, space visualization, spatial orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning etc. The topics are, Semantic Analogy, Symbolic/Number Analogy, Figural Analogy, Semantic Classification, Symbolic/Number Classification, Figural Classification, Semantic Series, Number Series, Figural Series, Problem Solving, Word Building, Coding & de-coding, Numerical Operations, symbolic Operations, Trends, Space Orientation, Space Visualization, Venn Diagrams, Drawing inferences, Punched hole/pattern –folding & unfolding, Figural Pattern – folding and completion, Indexing, Address matching, Date & city matching, Classification of centre codes/roll numbers, Small & Capital letters/numbers coding, decoding and classification, Embedded Figures, Critical thinking, Emotional Intelligence, Social Intelligence, Other sub-topics, if any.
(B): General Awareness: Questions in this component will be aimed at testing the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of every day observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Policy & Scientific Research.
(C): Quantitative Aptitude: The questions will be designed to test the ability of appropriate use of numbers and number sense of the candidate. The scope of the test will be computation of whole numbers, decimals, fractions and relationships between numbers, Percentage. Ratio & Proportion, Square roots, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture and Alligation, Time and distance, Time & Work, Basic algebraic identities of School Algebra & Elementary surds, Graphs of Linear Equations, Triangle and its various kinds of centres, Congruence and similarity of triangles, Circle and its chords, tangents, angles subtended by chords of a circle, common tangents to two or more circles, Triangle, Quadrilaterals, Regular Polygons , Circle, Right Prism, Right Circular Cone, Right Circular Cylinder, Sphere, Hemispheres, Rectangular Parallelepiped, Regular Right Pyramid with triangular or square base, Trigonometric ratio, Degree and Radian Measures, Standard Identities, Complementary angles, Heights and Distances, Histogram, Frequency polygon, Bar diagram & Pie chart
(D): English Comprehension: Candidates’ ability to understand correct English, his basic comprehension and writing ability, etc. would be tested.
The questions in Parts A, B, & D will be of a level commensurate with the essential qualification viz. Graduation and questions in Part C will be of 10th standard level.
NOTE: SSC CGL 2016 Tier-I exam is used to screen the candidates for appearing in Tier-II examination for various papers which will be specifically required for different groups of posts.
Marks of such screened candidates in Tier-I will be taken into account for final ranking of candidates for selecting them for the Computer Proficiency Tests/ Data Entry Skill Test and also for final selection.
