Career Guidance Cell informs that AFCAT 2021 notification has been released on November 28. The detailed notification and application form will be released on December 1. The online test of AFCAT (1) 2021 will be conducted in February, 2021. AFCAT (1) 2021 exam will be conducted for courses commencing in January 2022. Selected candidates will be granted Short Service Commission (SSC) in Flying Branch and Permanent Commission (PC) and Short Service Commission (SSC) in Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) branches.

AFCAT 2021 Application form
Candidates who will fulfill
the eligibility criteria are required to fill the AFCAT application form. The
application fee can be paid online. The application fee is Rs 250 for all
categories. The steps to fill the application form are given below.

After registration, candidates
need to fill personal information, educational qualification, course
preference, contact information, upload documents, sign the declaration and
select exam city.

The Indian Air Force prescribes AFCAT selection
process. Candidates for the exam is selected based on online test and AFSB
Interview. First, candidates who will successfully appear for the exam are
required to appear for AFCAT. However, candidates who opts for the Ground Duty
(Technical) branch are required to appear in both AFCAT and Engineering
Knowledge Test (EKT). Those who will qualify the AFCAT exam are called for AFSB

AFCAT Selection Process 2020: Online Test
This is the first stage of selection process. AFCAT test comprises
General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability and Reasoning
and Military Aptitude Test. The EKT comprises subjects on Mechanical, Computer
Science and Electrical & Electronics. The structure of the test is given

AFSB Interview
For AFCAT entry, IAF prepare a list of candidates who obtain the
minimum qualifying marks in the online exam. Those declared successful are
called at one of the Air Force Selection Boards (AFSBs). Candidates are advised
to be physically fit when they report at the SSB inorder to be able to undergo
various tests at AFSB. Permanent body tattoos are only permitted on inner face
of forearm (from inside of elbow to the wrist) and on the reverse side of palm/
back (dorsal) side of hand. Candidates should not use of narcotics. The testing
at AFSB would consist of three stages as given below:
Stage 1: Officer Intelligence Rating Test along with
Picture Perception and discussion test will be conducted on the first day. This
is a screening test and those who will qualify are required to undergo
subsequent testing. Such candidates are subject to document verification. I
will send candidates who either do not qualify in Stage 1 or back on the first
day.
Stage 2: Psychological test will be conducted on the
afternoon of Day 1. The Group Tests and Interview will commence after document
check for the next five days.
For the flying branch: Computerised Pilot Selection System (CPSS) will
be given to candidates. This is a once in a lifetime test.
AFCAT Eligibility Criteria
AFCAT 2021 Exam Pattern
All registered candidates are required to appear for the
online test of AFCAT. It is mandatory for the candidates opting for Ground Duty
(Technical) branch to appear in both AFCAT and Engineering Knowledge Test
(EKT). AFCAT exam pattern is such that it comprises four sections, General
Awareness, Verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability and Reasoning and
Military Aptitude Test. The duration of the test is two hours. The test
comprises 100 questions and carries 300 marks. The EKT exam will be conducted
for 45 minutes. The test will carry questions from Mechanical, Computer Science
and Electrical & Electronics. There will be a total of 50 questions. The
maximum marks allotted to the EKT are 150.

AFCAT Eligibility Criteria 2021: Nationality & Marital
Status
Candidates must be a citizen of India
Candidates must be below 25 years and should be unmarried
Widows/Widowers and divorcees (with or without
encumbrances) below 25 years are also not eligible
Candidates who marry subsequent to the date of his
application though successful at SSB or medical will not be eligible for
training
Those who marry during the period of training will be
discharged. They are liable to refund all expenditure incurred on him by the
government
Married candidates above 25 years can apply but during the
training period they will not be provided separate accommodation for the spouse
or they can live with family
AFCAT Eligibility Criteria 2021: Age Limit
Flying Branch through AFCAT and NCC Special Entry: The age
of candidates should be between 20 and 24 years. The upper age limit of
candidates holding valid and current commercial pilot license issued by DGCA is
relaxed upto 26 years.
Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branch:
Candidates must be between 20 and 26 years.

Candidates who have failed the Computerised Pilot Selection
System (CPSS)/ Pilot Aptitude Battery Test (PABT) in an earlier attempt or a
Flight Cadet suspended from flying training at Air Force Academy will not be
eligible to apply in Flying Branch
Candidates who were admitted earlier at the NDA, Indian
Military Academy, Air Force Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Officers’ Training
Academy, Chennai and Officer’s Training Academy Gaya but have been removed on
grounds of indiscipline are ineligible to apply

The basic requirements of medical fitness are the same for
all branches except for aircrew in which the parameters for visual acuity,
anthropometry and certain other physical standards are more stringent.

AFCAT 2021 Application Form FAQs
Q. Can I submit the AFCAT application form offline?
A. No, only online applications are accepted for the
recruitment exam.
Q. Do I need to send the hard copy of the application form?
A. Candidates are not required to send a hard copy of the
AFCAT application form.
Q. Can I pay the application fees through
cash/cheque/demand draft?
A. No cash/cheque/demand draft is accepted for fee payment.
Q. What is the age limit for applying to AFCAT?
A. For the flying branch, it is 20 to 24 years while it is
20 to 26 years for ground duty.
Q. Can I edit the details entered in AFCAT application form
2021?
A. Candidates need to verify that all the information
entered in the application form is correct before fee payment. Applicants
cannot edit the previous details after the selection of course preferences and
fee payment.
Q. What if an applicant has submitted more than one
application form?
A. If an applicant had submitted more than one application,
only the latest submitted application against a particular Aadhaar Number will
be considered for the exam. The fee is not refunded.
Q. How to reset the password while AFCAT apply online?
A. Candidates can reset their system-generated password by
clicking the required tab.
Q. I am not able to upload the photograph?
A. Candidates should upload the photograph between 10 and
50 kb. Applications with inappropriate photographs are not considered invalid.
Q. How to check the payment status?
A. Once the payment process is successful, the system
displays the registration number. This means that the payment has been
successful.
Q. My registration ID is not displayed?
A. Even after successful payment if the registration ID is
not displayed then candidates should contact the examination authority.
Q. Will I be allocated branches as per my choices?
A. The right to allocate branches depends on the
examination authority as per the availability of vacancies.
