State Bank of India Probationary Officers



The Career Guidance Cell informs that State Bank of India (SBI) has published notification for the recruitment of Probationary Officer (PO) vacancies. Eligible candidates may apply online from 04-05-2016 to 24-05-2016. Other details like age limit, qualification, selection process, application fee & how to apply are given below….

Age Limit: Candidates age limit should be between 21 – 30 years as on 01-04-2016 (i.e. candidates must have been born not earlier than 02-04-1986 and not later than 01-04-1995 both days inclusive). Relaxation of age will be applicable up to 05 years for SC/ ST, 03 years for OBC, 15 years for PWD (SC/ ST), 13 years for PWD (OBC) & 10 years for PWD (Gen) candidates and other relaxation details refer the notification.
Educational Qualification: Candidates should possess Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.
Selection Process: Candidates will be selected based on online written test (Preliminary & Main Examination), Group Discussion & interview.
Application Fee: Candidates should pay Rs. 600/- for General, OBC candidates abnd Rs. 100/- (Intimation Charges only) for SC/ ST/ PWD candidates (Non Refundable) through online mode by using Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Internet Banking.
How to Apply: Eligible candidates may apply online through the website www.sbi.co.in or www.statebankofindia.com from 04-05-2016 to 24-05-2016.
Instructions to Apply Online:
1. Before applying to online candidates have valid email & contact no.
2. Log onto the website www.statebankofindia.com or www.sbi.co.in.
3. Click on “Careers ——>”Click Latest Announcement”.
4. Select the desired post & Click on “Apply Online”.
5. Click on “Click here for New Registration”, if you are new user.
6. Get registered & then fill all the details & upload photo, signature and click on Submit button.
7. Make payment through online.
8. After successful submission of online application, take printout of online application for future use

SBI PO Eligibility: State Bank of India Probationary Officer (PO) Eligibility Details.
Nationality: Candidate should be a Citizen of India.
Age: Candidates age should not be below 21 years and not above 30 years i.e candidates must have been born not earlier than 02-04-1986 and not later than 01-04-1995 (both days inclusive).
Relaxation in the Upper Age Limit to Reserved category candidates:
Upper age is relaxable by
(i) 3 years in the case of OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates.
(ii) 5 years in the case of: (a) SC/ ST candidates. (b) Ex-servicemen (including Emergency Commissioned Officers/ Short Service Commissioned Officers) who have rendered at least five years continuous Military Service and have been released on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within one year) otherwise than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency or/ on account of physical disability or have been released/ discharged on account of physical disability attributable to Military Service or on invalidment (c) Candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in Kashmir Division of the State of Jammu and Kashmir between 1st January, 1980 and 31st December, 1989. 
Educational Qualification: Candidates should possess Graduation in any discipline from recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.
Note: Those who are in the Final year/ Semester of their Graduation may also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if called for interview, they will have to produce proof of having passed the graduation examination. Candidates having integrated dual degree (IDD) certificate should ensure that the date of passing the IDD.

A. Phase I: Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Tests for 100 marks will be conducted online. This test would be of 1 hour duration consisting of 3 Sections as follows…

B. Phase- II:Written Examination (250 marks) consisting of Objective Tests and Descriptive Test.
(i). Objective Tests (200 marks): The Objective Tests with 2 hour duration will consists of 4 Sections with 50 marks each as follows:
(a) Test of English Language (Grammer, Vocabulary, Comprehension etc)
(b) Test of General Awareness, Marketing and Computers
(c) Test of Data Analysis and Interpretation
(d) Test of Reasoning (High Level)
The candidates are required to qualify in the Objective Tests by securing passing marks, in each of the tests, to be decided by the Bank on the basis of the performance of all the competing candidates taken together in each test to a minimum required level for each category.
(ii). Descriptive Test (50 marks): The Descriptive Test with 1 hour duration will be of “Test of English Language (letter writing & essay)”.
